Porch Handrails

Handrails are a great way to update the look of a front porch, replacing the traditional balusters with custom metalwork is a huge improvement. I used CAD to design and render a simple, but fashionable, set of handrails for our front porch. Although the design is simple, the execution is a trickier than I expected. Combatting the weld distortion is tricky, alignment of all the pieces takes some thought, and I've never wanted a fixture table more in my life!

The end product turned out great, updating the look of our home without making it too modern. The handrails were capped with a 1" x 4" pine that is stained and coat in spar urethane for durability, which has been resilient to the elements so far.
